That it delivers some of Chris Phinney's finest work while coupling his once more with the great Carl Howard should send a few more hearts a'flutter. The Po Boyz wage war on the music here with a well-stocked arsenal of retro synths and electronics which are decidedly analog. The music is bent towards electronic soundscapes which revel in analog synthesis sounds, blending and looping and building each piece blip by blip. The boyz also hit solid with a few, shall I say, house beat tracks which has Phinney singing away with ballsa energy. And throughout, drones give way to ambiance and space rock and this is one very cool ride, indeed. |
