The band Frankilizer was formed in Ghent early in the year 2004, therefore, a relatively new band. Yet, front man Franki has already dedicated several years of his life to music. At the end of the nineties and early 2000, Frankie was running the stage as a crooner, chansonnier and cabaretier, always surrounded by renowned musicians.
Danny Mommens (Vive la fete) once wrote Frankies first song ‘Carmella’. that became a great value in Franki’s repertoire. In this period, he also released his very first single ‘ Embrace’, for which he worked together with musicians like Armand Bougoignie ( former Milk The Bishop & Mad Dog Loose) , Bent Van Looy en Reinhard Vanbergen van Das Pop. The headlines from those days were enthusiastic and an international breakthrough seemed inevitable, but Franki decided to say goodbye to the stage for a while.
However, Franki didn’t waste his time in that period. During his musical journey he went to Sweden to record a song as first Belgian artist at the Polar Studio’s ever. This studio mainly is known as the legendary Abba studio but also as the place where stars like AC/DC, The Ramones and The Beastie Boys wrote history.
A legendary place, now also discovered by Franki. He recorded ‘ Could You Be My Darling’, a song which he wrote along with Jeroen De Pessemier ( Bolchi) and that was produced by Luc Weytens ( Monza). Also musicians like Stephane Misseghers and Stef Van Leuven ( dEUS/Soulwax) worked along.
Self made man Franki further went to promote this song on Swedish radio and forced an international breakthrough. Now, Scandinavia is waiting in surprise for the first showcases of Frankilizer.
