Swampadawamp was formed in the spring of 2006 when singer/songwriter Gig Michaels and drummer David Lee recorded a slate of new songs in their studio in Charlotte, North Carolina. David Lee used the demo to recruit guitarist Marty Hill, who added his touch to the tracks. Michaels sent the tape to Joe Boyland, (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Co., Nazareth, etc.) who agreed to produce the band. In addition to Mary, the guys added B3 organist and pianist Duke Rivers, bassist Robbie Hegler and guitarist Michael Hough, and headed to Nashville to start recording the album at Seventeen Grand Studios. The result -- a blend of classic rock meets Southern funk which captures musicians displaying terrific command of their respective instruments having a penchant for the art of skilled songwriting.
