The Limbic System

Villains and Vixens

Cost: $8.00 (USD)

The Limbic System's first full-length release, independently produced in the band's own Ravenswood Dungeon studio. After the bitter and tragic loss of their drummer Paul Yau due to "professional differences" during an MTV-spoof gig, the band shifted their live performance momentum into the studio to carve out and polish the songs that would become "Villains and Vixens." Viet Nguyen combines acoustic and electric guitars with proud, yet vulnerable melodies, while Kirk Burgamy flexes his beefy guns and multiple talents on the bass and drums, occasionally adding colorful sprinklings of bass slapping, shaker and even tuba. The sound ranges from chill out introspective tunes to angry bitter anthems, where happiness is tainted with insecurity, and gloominess is wallowed in with pride. In "Villains and Vixens," The Limbic System puts forth a solid effort, and all while studying their asses off in school. So buy it already!
