| Dad Travers' Tape Recorder
|
WHO IS DAD TRAVERS? This "Dad" is originally from Cambridge, Massachusetts but has been working his way around Yorkshire, Belgium & France with "Mom" for the past year. Over the years he has been a member of musical acts that may or may not have actually performed (Chazan Chazaan, The Scheme, The Family Tragedy, Amberson's Wreath, Stinky Pint, Brewmasters of Reality). As life went on Dad began to focus on creating his own "sound". Presently he's trying to convert a lot of old tape cassette stuff to MP3. This should form the lion's share of what on here in the future. For those of you unfamiliar with Dad's music, basically more rattling and whining like "When the Kids are Gone". The classics "Letter from Dad", "When She Drives" and "Pickin' a Hole in The Wall" from his old Tascam Porta 2 days will be re-mastered for the occasion. While he no longer clocks hours with his tape recorder, but with his iBookG4, he still seeks the loFi goodness of those original recordings and plans to revive his old Tupperware drum kit one day soon. Dad thanks Mom Travers for her contributions on French Horn in "Barry Flyin' High", and generally for putting up with a closed door with lots of groaning behind it. Clearly Dad's laptop, and the new sounds he can get from it have inspired a new generation of "ditties" as seen here. Sure are a bit of a departure from the old Tascam recordings where the television is obviously buzzing along in the background (as heard in "Suburban Lady", a rough audio cassette reworking). We thank all of you for visiting and "He, Hi, Ho Good Night". Say "howdy" to Dad yourself: DadTravers@humanjoe.com LOCATION |
