Christmas time is here, all around us
And I’m sorry I can’t be with you, again
It’s a soldier’s life and one never can be certain
Though I promise, I’ll be seeing you next year
I’ve told you a hundred times, how much I miss you
And I hope you’ll be the first to understand
That with you on my mind, an M-16 by my side
This time, I’ve got to stay here with my friends






Christmas time is here, all around us
There’s so much talk of peace and “support “
The radio station plays a song that tells me how to “kick some butt”
Like they know, like they really know… at all
The politicians cry me a river
And promise me the world…as if they care
But all I really want is that you’ll be there for me next year
And I’ll be fine, I’ll be cool, I’ll be OK.
