| "Whisper on the Wind." | |
| WHISPER ON THE WIND. When we were young and wild and hot and free We couldn’t see the forest for the trees. Life was there for the taking and it was all in our making But somewhere we hit a wall and it brought us to our knees. It wasn’t that we didn’t understand The difference between a woman and a man. Role reversal or holding, holding some other hand But somewhere we hit a wall and it took us somewhere bad…. Now it seems like it will never come again It’s on some other road to avoid the pain. And it haunts me still with a subtle and soft refrain And with a whisper on the wind, you’re here again. But it’s only a misguided dumb daydream. Bittersweet but tainted like bad cream. With a use-by date that passed us by We grew old but didn’t know it. And somewhere we hit a wall and we both let out a scream…. |
