Born and raised in rural Ramer, Alabama, Jeff has been studying and making music for over 20 years now . . . and still finding ways to realize how little he knows. With influences ranging from thrash metal to the avant garde and malformed noise and math rock, he always strive to create sounds and textures that please his own ears . . . even though they may not seem so nice to other folks. Jeff's been on the musical path toward complete improvisation and experimental music ever since the age of 11 . . . and now, feels like he's finally there and able to work with improvisational/strange forms as comfortably as compositional. In the past few years, he's knocked myself out with forms that have always been close to my heart . . . struggling with everything from resonance, noise and instrumental limitations solo under the moniker of Gezoleen to blasting away at the musical heart of improv rock with the nightmare space rock trio Stull--and now barfing out great hunks of skewed melody and utter noise with The Hemogoblins & Liquid Brick. Other prjects include the electronic music of Skreephasia, Dead Operator, Shadow Code. Jeff wrote, booked for and toured with noise rockers bert for over 6 years and has been a constant (much like an annoying sore that won't heal!) in the Alabama music scene (yes, there is one...) for what seems like forever. Time has a way of tricking you down in these parts. Currently, Jeff's promoting my solo recording Ye Shall Be Cut Into Many Pieces, which is a musical journal of sorts wherein he recorded 10 seconds of sound each day of the year 2000. The result is a crazed collection of sounds from all over the U.S. and every corner of Jeff's jellied brain. He's also hard at work with his new band Saragashum, which is a aggressive, mostly instrumental prog-rock band from hell. Jeff is always looking for people to trade music with, to collaborate with and places to perform, so feel free to get in touch.
